Championship Doubleheader Set for Invicta FC 43 in November

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Two titles will be on the line this fall when Invicta Fighting Championships hosts its 43rd event on Friday, Nov. 20 in Kansas City.

In the night’s headliner, UFC veteran Pearl “The Chi-Town Princess” Gonzalez (10-5) meets 21-year-old Erin “Cold Blooded” Blanchfield (6-1) for the flyweight title, which was recently vacated by Vanessa Porto when she signed with Bellator MMA. Gonzalez will be fighting for Invicta gold for the second time, having battled the aforementioned Porto to a technical decision at Invicta FC 34. New York’s Blanchfield steps into the title affair having won three straight and four of her five Invicta appearances. She was most recently in action at Invicta FC 41, defeating Guam’s Brogan Sanchez.

Gold is also up for grabs in the night’s co-main event, as Emily “Gordinha” Ducote (9-6) clashes with Montserrat “Conejo” Ruiz (9-1). Like Gonzalez, Ducote will challenge for a belt for the second time. She was narrowly defeated by Kanako Murata at Invicta FC 38. Japan’s Murata has since signed with the UFC, leaving the title vacant once more. Ducote bounced back with a win over UFC veteran Juliana Lima at Invicta FC 40 in July. Mexico’s Ruiz was also in action in July, submitting former title challenger Janaisa Morandin in the first round of the Invicta FC 41 main event.

Invicta FC 43 will be overseen by the Kansas Athletic Commission and will feature open scoring. The event will air live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. CT. With the ongoing pandemic, Invicta FC 43 will take place behind closed doors — sans fans and media. As with any Invicta event, the safety of its athletes, their corners, its staff and commission officials is of the utmost priority. All participants will be tested for COVID-19 prior to the event.

Additional match-ups for the event will be announced in coming weeks.

Three Additional Bouts Complete Invicta FC 34 Fight Card

Kansas City, Mo. — The fight card for Invicta Fighting Championships 34 is now complete.

The upcoming flyweight tournament has undergone some changes and the previously announced lineup will be joined by three additional bouts.

Undefeated Brogan Walker-Sanchez (6-0) has been forced out of the flyweight tournament and Mexico’s Karina Rodriguez (6-3) will move from the reserve bout to take on UFC veteran Milana Dudieva (12-7) in the semifinals.

Rodriguez’s original opponent, Tracy Cortez (4-1), will now clash with undefeated New Yorker Erin Blanchfield (3-0). Blanchfield is fresh off a decision victory over Kay Hansen at Invicta FC 32 in November.

In the flyweight division, Invicta veteran Victoria Leonardo (3-1) welcomes Alabama’s Jamie Milanowski (2-2) to the promotion. Both of Milanowski’s victories have come via armbar and she has shared the cage with Invicta veteran Cheri Muraski and former UFC champion Nicco Montaño.

Also joining the card will be a pair of Colorado featherweights as Courtney King (1-1) meets Holli Logan (1-0-1). King battled Yaya Rincón in her promotional debut at Invicta FC 25 in 2017, while Salazar fought to a draw with Audrey Wolfe at Invicta FC 31.

Finally, a pair of flyweight newcomers will kick off the night’s action as Florida’s Caitlin Sammons (0-0) makes her professional debut against Tennessee’s Christina Ricker (1-1).

Hansen

Kay Hansen Joins Invicta FC 32 Lineup

Kansas City, Mo. — Kay Hansen is getting her wish.

Following her TKO victory over Helen Peralta at Invicta FC 31, Hansen (3-1) called her shot, asking for a match-up with undefeated Erin Blanchfield (2-0). Blanchfield, however, was already slated to welcome Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Luanna Alzuguir to the Invicta cage at Invicta FC 32.

That has changed, as Alzuguir’s MMA debut has been delayed. Hansen will step in for the Brazilian, meeting Blanchfield at 125 pounds.

The 19-year-old Hansen has earned two victories in her three Invicta appearances. The Californian rides a two-fight winning streak. Blanchfield, also just 19 years of age, made her Invicta debut in July, defeating Brittney Cloudy.

Invicta Fighting Championships 32 takes place from the FireLake Arena in Shawnee on Friday, Nov. 16. The event will stream live on UFC Fight Pass. The night’s main event features a featherweight title fight between undefeated Felicia Spencer (5-0) and veteran Pam Sorenson (7-2). In the co-main event, former strawweight title challenger MIZUKI (12-5) squares off with UFC veteran Heather Jo Clark (8-6).

The updated Invicta FC 32 fight card can be found below:
