My training routine is a bit unorthodox in terms of that I train on variable times but I try to get at least two training sessions that focus on fighting each day. One session with the Mjolnir MMA competition team, and then one session where I can focus on specifics, be it striking, wrestling, BJJ or whatever else. Then I try to mix it up a little bit. Some days I do Yoga. Sometimes I go swimming and then whenever I can I do things out in the wilderness, like hiking or just getting lost in nature. I consider that an active rest.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU AS A FIGHTER
Love is what motivates me as a fighter. First and foremost it is my daughter, my family and my friends that motivate me. I think of them when I enter the cage and I feel their strength clearly. Then of course my love for the sport motivates me. There is nothing that I would rather be doing and I feel that fighting is my destiny!
WHAT GOT YOU INTO MARTIAL ARTS?
I was a 115 lbs, blonde girl working late nights, serving at bars and driving a taxi. There were more than a few instances where I felt that I might be in danger so I decided that it´d be a wise move to learn how to defend myself. That turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I started off in Muay-Thai but I soon became curious to try other martial arts as well. DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS?
Yeah. I do. I knit wool sweaters, scarfs and beanies and that is something that I do quite often. It calms me down and I think it is a great exercise for my fingers. I´m convinced that it has helped strengthen my grip and that surely comes handy in my profession.
IF YOU COULD FIGHT ANYONE, LIVING OR DEAD, WHO WOULD YOU FIGHT AND WHY?
This question brings me back to my roots. I´d love to go back to the Viking ages and be able to be a shield maiden, fighting on the battlefield, kicking ass and cutting off heads. The character Lagherta from the Viking´s TV show pretty much sums up who my role model would be. I think she is awesome! Therefore the characters that I’d like fight would be those who stand in her way.
